Welcome to our featured harp music section!  Every quarter (March, June, September, and December) we will feature a work by one of our talented Pacific Northwest harp composers and arrangers. You are welcome to download and print a copy of this music for your personal private use. (If you wish to perform the music publicly for profit, print or publish any arrangement, or record or broadcast it, you must first contact the copyright holder for the appropriate permissions.)

The Foggy Dew

A traditional Irish tune arranged for harp by M. Diane Moss

Diane says: This is an Irish tune I've always loved, both for the melody and for the well-known lyrics in which the poet speaks of seeing the ghosts of Ireland's heroes marching away into the foggy dew as a church bell sounds. In this arrangement, which I created to play at the 2007 Fort Worden Folk Harp Festival harp circle, I tried to add elements that were reminiscent of a slow and spectral march, shimmering mists, and the deep tolling of the bell.

PS - This arrangement is for 36-string harp, but can also be done on a 26 if you use the small notes in parentheses that appear in several measures.
